I'm sitting in the Newark International Airport's young traveler's group lounge, with one hour to go before the flight leaves. In 6.5 hours, I'll be in a completely different country, with 70 degree warmer weather. This is pretty crazy. Three months away from the orange bubble will be so different, but I think it'll be one of the best adventures I've had.
I have to give props to some of my best friends, who just stayed up with me until 5:00 in the morning to send me off. I love you guys so much, and will miss you all. (There's nothing like cuddling on Ground Couch with you all).
This morning, of course, was not without my characteristic frantic air-headedness. Forgot the typhoid pills in my room and had to sprint back to grab them. And, a point of pride, my suitcase weighted exactly 50.0 lbs. No joking around here. I'll take every last pound of luggage I can, thank you very much.
For now, there's not much else to report. Here's hoping for an amazing next three months of travel, new experiences, and new friends (and looking at cool plants).
Keep watching for pictures and stories, and keep me updated with life back in the states!
Actually, it's not 70 degrees in CELCIUS. Please try to be more specific, or you'll ruin the already shaky reputation of this forum.
ReplyDeleteI feel like you're being a bit harsh. I for one enjoy this investigative look into the lifestyle of our canal friends to the south. The zinger titles really add an extra dimension to the posts too - you go Claire!
